As per the JEE (Main) 2026 Information Bulletin, you upload a live photograph while filling the form, and also scanned images of your photograph and signature, plus your Class 10 certificate as a PDF.

Unlike NEET, the JEE Main photo must be in colour. 80% of it should be your face without a mask, with ears visible, against a white background, in JPG/JPEG format between 10 KB and 200 KB. The signature must be a JPG/JPEG of 10 KB to 100 KB.

NTA does not give a pixel size, so the tool makes the common 3.5 × 4.5 cm passport shape (413 × 531 px) for the photo and a 3.5 × 1.5 cm strip for the signature, and keeps each file inside its KB range.

How to resize your JEE Main photo and signature

1. Photo tab: tap "Choose photo" and choose a recent colour photo with a white background.
2. Use the zoom slider until your face fills about 80% of the frame; drag to centre it.
3. Tap "Download JPG" and check the size shown (10–200 KB).
4. Signature tab: photograph your signature on white paper and tap "Download JPG" (10–100 KB).
5. Upload both in the JEE Main form, then capture the live photo in good light.

Common mistakes that get the form rejected

• Black & white photo. JEE Main asks for a colour photograph.
• Face too small, ears hidden, mask, cap or dark glasses.
• Background not white, or shadows on the wall behind you.
• Blurred signature or signature on lined paper.
• Uploaded photo and live photo looking very different (old photo, different look).
