IBPS publishes 'Guidelines for scanning and upload of documents' with every notification (PO/MT, Clerk, RRB and SO), and the same four uploads are used by most bank exams: photograph, signature, left thumb impression and a hand-written declaration. A live photo is also captured in the form.
The preferred sizes in the IBPS PO 2025 and Clerk guidelines are: photo 200 × 230 pixels and 20–50 KB; signature 140 × 60 pixels and 10–20 KB; left thumb impression 240 × 240 pixels at 200 DPI (3 × 3 cm) and 20–50 KB; and the hand-written declaration 800 × 400 pixels at 200 DPI (10 × 5 cm) and 50–100 KB. SBI and other bank recruitments often use the same sizes, but check the document guidelines in your own notice.
The declaration text from the IBPS guidelines is: "I, (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required." It must be in English, in your own handwriting, and not in capital letters.
How to resize your IBPS / SBI photo and signature
- Choose the tab for what you want to make: Photo, Signature, Thumb or Declaration.
- Tap the choose button and take or pick a photo. For signature, thumb and declaration use white paper and black ink.
- Check the frame and drag or zoom if needed.
- Tap "Download JPG". The pixel size and KB under the button match the IBPS table above.
- Repeat for the other tabs and upload the four files in the bank form.
Common mistakes that get the form rejected
- Signature or declaration written in CAPITAL letters (IBPS says it must not be).
- Declaration written in Hindi or by someone else; IBPS treats that application as invalid.
- Photo with cap, hat or dark glasses, or taken in the dark.
- Signature file above 20 KB, or the thumb impression smudged.
- Uploading the thumb image in the signature box.
